Why should I be baptized?<\/h2><\/div>[vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

  1. To FOLLOW the example set by Jesus. \u201cAnd it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan.\u201d Mark 1:9 (KJV)<\/li>\n
  2. Because Christ COMMANDED it. \u201cGo ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you\u201d Matt. 28:19-20 (KJV)<\/li>\n

    1. It illustrates Christ\u2019s DEATH, BURIAL and RESURRECTION. \u201cChrist died for our sins\u2013 He was buried\u2013 and He rose again.\u201d I Cor. 15:3-4 (KJV) \u201cBuried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with Him\u2026\u201d Col. 2:12 (KJV)<\/li>\n
    2. It illustrates my BIRTH as a Christian. \u201cTherefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.\u201d II Cor. 5:17 (KJV)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      BAPTISM DOESN\u2019T MAKE YOU A BELIEVER <\/strong>\u2014 it shows that you ARE a believer. Baptism does not save you, only your faith in Christ can do that. Baptism is like a wedding ring\u2013it is the outward symbol of the commitment you made in your heart.<\/p>\n

      Why be baptized by immersion?<\/h2><\/div>[vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

      1. Because JESUS was baptized that way. \u201cAnd Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:\u201d Matthew 3:16 (KJV)<\/li>\n
      2. Every baptism in the NEW TESTAMENT was by immersion. (Example) \u201c\u2013 then both Philip and the man went down into the water and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water \u2013\u201d Acts 8:38-39 (KJV)<\/li>\n
      3. The word \u201cbaptize\u201d means \u201cto DIP UNDER water. \u201dThe Greek word bapitizo means \u201cto immerse or dip under water.\u201d<\/li>\n
      4. It best symbolizes a burial and resurrection!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
